Avoiding Airspace Infringements
At Sandhill Farm, we operate close to the Fairford ATZ, and the Brize Norton CTR, as well as having the Cotswold CTA directly above us from FL65.
NOTAMs may also affect the local airspace on a day-by-day basis.
All Pilot In Charge ( PIC) are responsible for avoiding airspace infringements by being aware of all restriction in place on the day they fly.
We have been asked by the RAF Brize Norton Safety Rep to bring the following message to the attention of all pilots:
Good morning,
I am the RAF Brize Norton Air Safety Representative. I have been asked by the Local Airspace Infringement Team at the CAA to request that the following links be added to your website and circulated among local flying clubs. These resources are aimed at helping educate pilots about the importance of avoiding airspace infringements.
NATS AIS NOTAM – https://nats-uk.ead.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/home/ and to register https://nats-uk.ead.com/cms-nats/opencms/en/registration/
UK Met Office Aviation Briefing Service – Aviation Briefing Service – Met Office
https://metoffice.gov.uk/services/transport/aviation/regulated/national-aviation/uk-services/pre-flight-briefing-services/abs/index
I would be grateful if you could forward this request to the appropriate person at your airfield. Once actioned, please let me know so I can update the CAA accordingly.
If you have any questions or need further information, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
