What To Expect On The Day
Standard, Enhanced and Premium Trial Flights take place at Weekends, whilst half day courses are generally only flown midweek. Flights for groups of 4 or more people may take place midweek subject to instructor availability
If you try gliding at Vale of White Horse Gliding Centre, you can invite up to three guests to watch and experience flying operations from the launch point. You and they are encouraged to take pictures before, during and after your flight, and with your permission, we’ll add one of these to our gallery of guest flyers on the club website.
All gliding experiences start with a briefing by one of our fully qualified instructors who will explain all of the safety aspects of your flight, and introduce you to the dual-controlled glider. They will make sure you are comfortable and secure in the cockpit, before a tug plane tows you to the necessary height. Once you have released from the tow plane, your pilot will invite you to take the glider controls, or you can simply sit back and enjoy the ride while the instructor flies.
