Junior Gliding

The Vale of White Horse Gliding Centre is a BGA accredited Junior Gliding Centre. Our aim is to enable and encourage young people to actively get involved in the rewarding sport of gliding. 

We offer Junior members discounted membership and flying fees.

You can go solo at the age of 14 and commence flying training at 13.

All instruction is given by British Gliding Association accredited instructors who are CRB checked.

Why not come along to the airfield on a weekend and have an informal chat with a member or instructor, and meet some  other juniors. It will give you the opportunity to get to know more about the club.

You’ll need to get your parent of guardian’s consent to become a flying member of the club if you are under 18; they can get in touch using our contact form, and we’ll have one of the club members most involved in junior gliding to chat with you and/or them, to answer any questions you have.
