The club is run by volunteers which means our instructors and tug pilots give up their time for free enabling you the opportunity to fly at very reasonable rates.

Flying in a Glider is a totally unique method of flight. We offer First Flight Experiences for those who want an introduction to glider flying and Introductory Lessons for those ready to learn to fly a glider. Whether you’re interested yourself or are buying a gift for someone else take a look at what we offer.
Learning to be a glider pilot is challenging and exciting. Our fully qualified instructors will guide you through a syllabus laid down by the British Gliding Association in dual controlled two-seat gliders. They will help you build the skills required to handle the glider, whilst developing your judgmental ability.
VoWHGC offers novices and experienced glider pilots the chance to fly in a beautiful part of the country where there is excellent thermal activity and the potential for extensive cross-country flights. The airfield is about 2.5 miles north east of Swindon on the B4000 Shrivenham to Highworth road. The club flies at weekends and Bank Holidays and visitors are always welcome.
